Holly and Jame's London Wedding at The Asylum
I must confess that I have wanted to photograph a wedding at the Asylum Chapel in Peckham for some time. A totally unique venue full of atmosphere and theatre, with its crumbling interior walls and stain glass windows. So when I first spoke to Holly and she told me her plans for her wedding at the chapel, I think I came across as some what excited !!
And what a fantastic wedding day - very relaxed and yet intimate and heart warming. The derelict chapel was decorated with candles, tea lights and flowers, that created a dramatic backdrop.Following the formalities at The Asylum at Carolina Gardens, everyone jumped on a red routemaster bus and headed down the road to West Dulwich to the Rosendale Pub to continue the festivities. As you can see from the photos, Holly had transformed the elegant dining room into the most beautiful reception space. After the speeches we headed up onto the roof of the pub, for portraits over looking London, just as the sun went down.
My thanks to Holly and James for being such a fabulous couple and being perfect to photograph. And yes I now have photographed a wedding at The Asylum Chapel.
