It was the hottest day of the year, and I found myself in Battersea Park with a couple that were about to tie the knot. Jess and Andre had chosen The Pump House as their venue for their wedding day, and I couldn't have been more excited to be there to capture it all.
Alec and Aidie’s London wedding was some party. Disco balls, neon signs and amazing table ware of pink gourds, hand made place setting against sparkly lights .
Yasmine and Ali’s intimate Chelsea wedding just oozed love and happiness. They shared their special day with family and their closest friends with a ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall and a wonderful reception at Yaz’s parent’s house.
Since moving to Petersfield I have wanted to photograph at the fantastic local wedding, The Tithe Barn. So you can imagine I was super excited to photograph the summer wedding of Joanna and James at this stunning South Downs wedding venue. The historic building set in the beautiful countryside is just the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding celebration.
There is something wonderful about small weddings and their day was beautifully intimate. The grand Orleans House Gallery, in southwest London never fails to disappoint and is a fantastic backdrop for photographs. Recently refurbished with an ornate colourful high ceiling, vast windows and chequerboard flooring - it is the perfect place to say ‘I do’.
Jemma and Jamie’s wedding ceremony at The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich was simply stunning. The venue looks like a set from a period drama and the chapel is wonderfully atmospheric with its neo-classical interior, carved gold ceiling and huge altarpiece. And the maritime theme was continued, as their reception was held a short boat ride down the Thames at the equally atmospheric industrial venue of The Chainstore at Trinity Buoy Wharf in East London. Just a perfect summer's day.
Karina and Chris wanted to get married at their local boozer which by chance is the magnificent Paradise by Way of Kensal green. From the pubs title you can gather this is no ‘run of the mill’ pub. The Paradise is a beautiful and unique venue with its boho vibe. The shabby chic interiors with strong colour palletes , decorated with mismatching bohemian decor featuring religious icons, hanging lanterns, wall murals and rustic mirrors add to the curious ambience. Its a venue where I have photographed several weddings and I never tire of the space.
Northbrook Park is one of my favourite Surrey wedding venues. The 18th century manor house is set in its own beautiful grounds and the estate features a wonderful Orangery, The Vine Room and a picturesque walled garden with roaming peacocks. From a photographic point of view it has fantastic natural light in all the main rooms, everything is self contained and the idilic location has endless spots for perfect photographs.
Rosie and Dan’s summer celebrations is what I’d describe as a classic London pub wedding with a good old fashioned knees up. This wonderful relaxed and laid back couple held their wedding reception at The Peasant Clerkenwell London and their ceremony at Islington Town Hall. Having signed the register everyone boarded a Routemaster bus for the short journey across London. The Peasant is an old school pub with beautiful decor including a mosaic tiled floor, a funky downstairs bar space and loads of classic band and film posters.
Emily and Adam choose to tie the knot at one of the coolest wedding venues in London. The Chainstore at Trinity Buoy Wharf is a beautiful warehouse on The Thames overlooking the Millenium Dome. With a spectacular London skyline, an authentic American Dinner, the only lighthouse in the city and the ‘Container City’ the possibility for great wedding photography is endless.
My last wedding of 2019 took me back to one of my favourite wedding Surrey venues, to photograph the lovely Nikki and Lee. There was a real Christmas feel to the day with beautiful floral decorations by Elspeth from Blume Studio, festive twinkly lights, baubles and the obligatory Christmas tree. The ceremony was relatively late at 3, so we just had time to shoot some couple portraits around the grounds and in the surrounding country lanes before sunset.
The Wild Garden in The Hyde Estate is a magical wedding venue deep in the middle of a West Sussex woodland. Perfect for a couple who love the outdoors and nature. The marquee is perched underneath beech trees overlooking a stunning lake.
Lucy and Mike went for a contemporary urban look for their London wedding. They choose Loft Studios for their alternative wedding venue with its industrial warehouse feel with exposed brick work, large windows and exposed beams. The ceremony was held in one of the studio spaces before guests were led to the covered courtyard space for the start of the celebrations.
During the summer I was delighted to have been part of Lauren and Nick’s wedding day at the stunning Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire. I know the venue well from regularly attending the End of the Road festival but this was the first occasion to return to this gorgeous location to document a wedding. For a quintessential English country wedding this venue has it all with little quirky twists.
The first time I spoke to Mia I knew within moments that her Brighton wedding was going to be amazing. A relaxed ceremony exchanging vows underneath the cover of the iconic Brighton bandstand, a reception at Ditchling Barn all with a vintage styled theme.
Leadenhall Market in the City of London is an elegant location for a wedding. Dating back to the 14th century, this wonderfully atmospheric building comes complete with charming cobbled walkways, original victorian roofs and was used as a backdrop in several of the Harry Potter films!!
One of my favourite wedding venues in Sussex has to be Hawthbush Farm. Returning to photograph Bird’s and Alex’s chilled out festival styled wedding was a real joy. The first ceremony of the day was an intimate affair for close family and the wedding party. Held in the drop dead gorgeous , The Chantry, a tiny tin clad old chapel with a white bright interior. We then made our way to Hawthbush Farm for a second ceremony outside in a woodland clearing. It doesn’t get any more romantic.
Hall Place in Kent is an amazing venue and I last visited this historic location for the wedding of Liz and Will. It was great to return to photograph Laura and Matt’s amazing day.The ceremony was held in the atmospheric Great Hall, a beautiful light room with large windows, wood panelling and a glorious fireplace. Afterwards guests lined outside the courtyard and welcomed the newly-weds with confetti. Great photo moment!!
The super lovely Sara and Igor, tied the knot at the historic St Mary church in Denham. We had the perfect summer weather and a glorious garden setting for a marquee reception.
You can't beat a wedding photograph with an awe inspiring landscape as a backdrop. And barns are some of the most stunning venues available for couples who are looking to create a rustic and country themed wedding.
Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding photographer: One of my favourite London venues to photograph a wedding is Trinity Buoy Wharf. This urban wedding was a feast of colour from the vivid bridesmaid dresses, brightly coloured ties and golden bouquets. Anna and Nick’s personalised details were everywhere and I even photographed the groom with some super heros.
When planning your wedding day a year in advance you don’t expect snow in March. Storm Emma and the Beast from the East both arrived on Helen and Shaun’s wedding day but despite the artic conditions their spirits remained high.
Having been a wedding photographer for several years, I have had the opportunity to photograph weddings in some amazing locations. Unique and atmospheric locations are both idyllic for a perfect wedding and form great backdrops for photos.
Michaela and Alex’s gorgeous Autumn wedding at the romantic medieval castle at Farnham. The light at this time of year tends to be softer with a lower sun and if you are looking for warm tones check out the bridesmaids gold dresses. This historic exquisite venue is a short stroll from the centre of Farnham and has outstanding views across the town. it has a host of fantastic backdrops and 5 acres of grounds.
The East London Wedding venue, Kachette, is a railway arch warehouse located on Old Street in Shoreditch. It was the perfect venue for Claire and Daniel’s winter wedding, who were looking for a space with plenty of atmosphere and character in the vibrant Shoreditch area.
I have wanted to photograph a wedding at The Roost for a long time, so I was totally thrilled when Hafsah and David told me they had booked this amazing Dalston venue for their reception. A classic victorian pub that is now used for photoshoots and weddings. With its amazing array of funky furniture, vintage props and amazing backgrounds, the bride and groom transformed the space with their own personal touches and decorations.
Sarah and James tied the knot in the summer at Friars Court. They instantly fell in love with the historic Oxfordshire venue, a beautiful 17th-century stone farmhouse with gorgeous gardens surrounded by a moat. The cotswold house has stood for over 300 years, and buildings have been on the site since 1149.
The stunning 17th century Whitmore Hall hosts just a handful of weddings a year and Leah and Andy were lucky to secure one of those slots. A tipi overlooking the lake was the setting for their wedding reception. Leah spent over a year sourcing and collecting vintage props to decorate tables and the interior of the tipi. Her attention to detail was quite amazing. Retro plates and cutlery, toby mugs, hand made order of service to name a few. Even the wedding transport was a vintage mini car.
There's something deeply romantic about a winter wedding. The allure of candlelight, fairy lights twinkling, candles burning with a rustic theme in a beautiful country location.Well that just about sums up Lewis and Danielle's wedding day at Maidens Barn in Essex. The barn dates back to the 1800’s and has been beautifully renovated with it’s large windows and high ceilings, creating a light, airy atmosphere with elegance and a country charm.
Rosie and Daniel's rural wedding day was a unique, magical occasion. Held at the picturesque Hadsham Farm in the rolling countryside of North Oxfordshire at the edge of the Cotswolds. The ceremony and reception were hosted in a Tipi overlooking the lake and the Farm's valley.
The Queens Head pub in the village of Nassington was the perfect venue for the intimate wedding of Shannon and Ashley to tie the knot. A 'cream tea' reception next to the river proved a picturesque setting. Family and friends all helped to decorate the marquee with some great colourful pom poms and bunting while hay bales and sweet trollies created that sense of a village fete.
Heidi and Daniel are great lovers of the outdoors, nature and particularly wildlife. So their choice of Wilderness Wood in East Sussex as a venue for their wedding comes as no surprise. The bride and groom wanted a very informal celebration with loved ones in a magical setting. Their wedding was more of a weekend than just one day as guests camped on site.
A Spanish Bride and a Kiwi groom via Borough in London. The wedding of Paula and Geoff was a truly international affair at one of my favourite wedding venues in London. Trinity Buoy Wharf in the East of London is a former working dock and has an atmospheric Urban charm.
The South Place Hotel was the ideal venue for James and Kate's chic and very London Wedding. This boutique, luxurious, contemporary hotel is located in the 'Square mile' and straddles that fine line between the 'City' and Shoreditch. James and the boys had spent the night before in the nearby Brick Lane and how could I resist photographing the groom against the gritty streets of E1. Returning to the hotel to capture the final stages of hair and makeup and to document the intimate exchange of vows.
Hannah and Phillip tied the knot at the beautiful setting of Millbridge Court. This boutique, contemporary wedding venue is located in the pretty village of Frensham on the Hampshire/ Surrey border. The Ceremony and Reception rooms have wonderful floor to ceiling windows flooding the rooms with natural light.
Wasing Park in the sunshine looks every part the perfect venue to get married. Set in 18th century parkland, the elegant estate has a collection of historical buildings including a Victorian Summerhouse, a romantic grade two listed Dovecote, Smithy and Granaryand and the cutest 15th century chapel of St.Nicolas.
Sarah and Jame’s Winchester wedding was held in the pretty village of Easton. The church ceremony was followed by a short stroll to a garden reception. So many fantastic details in particular the fabulous tipi so beautifully decorated.
If you like your giant topiary then Hall Place in Bexley, Kent is the ideal location for your wedding. This fine Tudor Mansion, dating back to Henry VIII, commands a regal atmosphere with its stunning panelled Great Hall and rare plaster ceilings. Hall Place is set within a walled landscaped garden with classic rose gardens and these hedges shaped into giant animals. Whats not to like?

From the decor to the entertainment, every detail was thoughtfully chosen to create an atmosphere that was both elegant and playful.
