Wedding venues in Hampshire and Sussex
Unique and alternative wedding venues in Hampshire and West Sussex
Having been a wedding photographer for several years, I have had the opportunity to photograph weddings in some amazing locations. Unique and atmospheric locations are both idyllic for a perfect wedding and form great backdrops for photos.
I have compiled a list of some of my favourite wedding venues in Hampshire and Sussex.
The Tithe Barn is set on a 300 acre farm on the Hampshire West Sussex border between Petersfield and South Harting. It is unusually grand for a farm building with six huge stone arches, a flag stone floor and balcony. A real wow factor.
Cowdray House and Walled garden
This historic grade 1 listed site is located in Midhurst, West Sussex, within the spectacular ground of Cowdray Park. The venue boasts a mix of Medieval, Georgian & Victorian architectural features for a unique look.
Located on Brighton’s vibrant seafront you can exchange your vows on the historic Victorian bandstand overlooking the beach. And the cosmopolitan city can offer a range of different venues for a reception including the stunning Royal Pavilion, the famous Brighton Pier, The Duke of York’s Picturehouse and grand seafront hotels.
An authentic rustic old barn the owners describe as a “quintessential rural idyll”. Tucked at the foot of The South Downs and perfect for a laidback boho festival styled wedding. And the owners even supply their own home grown wild flowers.
A picturesque wedding venue boasts an enchanting wild garden set in the middle of 850 acres of woods and countryside. An outdoor ceremony in a clearing by a lake and Arabian tents for the reception is just stunning.
A charming 17th century estate with beautiful gardens and parkland views. A walled kitchen garden, Victorian glasshouses, sunken garden and a 300ft Edwardian pergola.Perfect for an outdoor marquee reception held on the picnic lawn.
A magical location for an outdoor wedding with a difference, offering panoramic views of one of the south coast’s last undeveloped harbours and surrounded by majestically towering trees.
A classic South downs manor that has a variety of places to hold both indoor ceremonies and the addition of the outdoor gazebo.Church weddings can be held in the gorgeous grade 2 St. Georges Church a stroll away.
Set amid 30 acres of heritage gardens and parkland, the former house of famous naturalist Gilbert White sits beneath the Selborne Hanger of The South Downs. A 16th century barn can host a reception with glorious views over tranquil meadows. Outdoor receptions offered with marquees, tipis and bell tents for the festival vibe.
It is an historic manor house set in the midst of the beautiful Southdowns National Park. I’m particularly fond of this venue as this is where I hosted my own wedding !!
