Dorset Wedding at Stockbridge Farm Barn
Pie and mash, home-made desserts and my mums VW camper van
When I first met Becca and Jamie this is how they described their plans for their wedding. Well of course I was immediately hooked. A romantic church ceremony followed by a candle lit reception in a rustic barn. And when their day arrived it turned out exactly how they had planned. St. Andrews, the lovely medieval village church in Trent, Dorset, was bathed in golden autumnal sunlight for an afternoon service. The bride and groom then made the short journey aboard "Free Bird' a VW camper van, to Stockbridge Farm Barn, where the rustic venue had been transformed into a magical wedding wonderland.
When Jamie had proposed to Becca, he placed her engagement ring as a decoration on a plate of mashed potato. So it seemed fitting that Pie and Mash should top their wedding menu. Also guests were asked to bring a home-made dessert. The result - an array of "to Die for" baked wonders for all those with a sweet tooth. As a full moon rose in the night sky, the sound of 'Wichita Lineman' by Glen Campbell signalled the first dance. What A perfect day.
